About Venture

Based in West Sussex, U.K. and offering services throughout the UK and internationally, Venture is the leading expert organisation dedicated to the development and support of Integrated Care Pathways (ICPs).

We have built a strong reputation for improving health and social care through high quality, practical ICP education, training, mentoring, development and support, and are committed to delivering a practical, relevant and effective service.

Venture is unique in having staff with strategic and hands-on experience of developing, using, project managing and evaluating ICPs. We have direct experience in all areas of healthcare (acute, community, primary, mental health, adult, paediatric, older people), as well as social care services, with both public and private providers. We also have extensive experience of using process mapping techniques to support health and social care providers and commissioners in service redesign and quality/performance improvement.

We offer a rolling programme of courses related to ICPs across the UK and Ireland. In addition we provide in-house training and ICP project support tailored to meet local needs.

Venture is committed to working with the healthcare industry to raise the standards of data capture and to promote a culture of information sharing and consistent best practice. Our policy to develop partnerships with organisations on an ongoing basis for appropriate areas of Venture activity reflects this commitment.

In a joint initiative with Nimbus Partners (specialists in Process and Performance Management), Venture has developed the first genuine electronic Integrated Care Pathways application (Nimbus Pathway). The software supports the planning, design, writing, implementation, variance tracking, analysis and reporting of ICPs as part of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR).

Our website is dedicated to the free sharing of information related to ICPs. We are currently working in partnership with the National electronic Library for Health (NeLH) to develop and classify an international database of ICPs, which can be freely shared in the interests of best practice.

Venture also works in partnership with the Royal Society of Medicine Press (RSM) to produce and promote the Journal of Integrated Care Pathways.

Who's Who?

JENNY GRAY MCSP, SRP, Grad Dip Phys
Managing Director

Jenny, in addition to her ten years as a practicing Chartered Physiotherapist, brings a broad perspective to the strategic development of ICPs and Health Informatics. She has worked as an NHS General Manager, Independent Healthcare Consultant and founding Director of both an information technology and training company, and an aircraft spare parts company. She has seventeen years of personnel management experience and her skills include process mapping and modelling, management of change, organisation & management development practice, project management & facilitation, personnel management, financial & business management, service development, strategic and operational management and systems design.

Jenny has championed the use of ICPs outside the narrow field of acute hospital care since they were brought to England as Anticipated Recovery Pathways in 1990. Having witnessed the ICP Tool's remarkable motivating and team building potential, she has become one of the tool's most ardent advocates. She has worked together with the NHS Executive and other individuals and agencies over the past twelve years to establish ICPs in the U.K.. She has lectured widely and is dedicated to the education, training, development and support of ICPs to ensure continuous improvements in healthcare for patients across the U.K. and internationally.

Jenny's efforts have been largely concentrated on developing and driving the 'bite sized chunk' approach to developing the more complex ICPs commonly found in fields such as primary care, child and adolescent services and mental health.
